Job Title: Site Engineer
Job Summary
The Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing on-site technical activities, ensuring construction/installation works are executed according to design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. The role involves coordinating with contractors, supervisors, consultants, and project managers to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Management & Supervision
Monitor daily site activities and ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings and specifications.
Coordinate with subcontractors, site supervisors, and labor teams to maintain workflow efficiency.
Conduct regular site inspections to verify progress and quality.
2. Technical & Engineering Support
Interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
Provide technical guidance and resolve on-site engineering issues.
Prepare method statements, technical reports, and site documentation.
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure all materials used and work performed meet required quality standards.
Implement and enforce quality control procedures.
Verify compliance with building codes, health & safety regulations, and statutory requirements.
4. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Enforce strict adherence to HSE policies.
Identify potential hazards and support corrective and preventive actions.
Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings when required.
5. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain daily site reports, work progress logs, and material usage records.
Provide timely progress updates.
Assist in preparing project schedules, cost estimates, and resource plans.
6. Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with consultants, clients, and suppliers for inspections, approvals, and clarifications.
Attend site meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
7. Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and standards.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
8. Soft Skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
Experience
Typically 2 – 5 years of experience in a site engineering or similar role. (Can be adjusted based on your needs.)
Working Conditions
Primarily site-based role with exposure to outdoor and construction environments.
May require extended hours or weekend work depending on project schedule.
