Job Description

As the Site Director for the chemical manufacturing site, you will be responsible for providing overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational excellence. Your role will involve ensuring that production, quality, safety, environmental, and compliance objectives are met in alignment with corporate goals and regulatory requirements. You will oversee cross-functional teams, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and effectively manage resources to deliver high-quality chemical products safely, on time, and within budget. Being the key liaison between site operations and executive leadership, you will play a critical role in fostering a culture of safety, innovation, compliance, and performance. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Operational Leadership:** - Develop and execute manufacturing strategy aligned with organizational goals. - Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency enhancement. - Oversee day-to-day operations including production, maintenance, logistics, and safety. - Allocate and manage resources effectively for smooth operations. - **Strategic Leadership:** - Develop and implement site-level strategies aligned with corporate goals. - Provide leadership and direction to production staff and operational teams. - Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and assess operational success regularly. - Collaborate with other department heads to align operational activities with broader organizational objectives. - Identify potential operational risks and develop mitigation strategies. - **Health, Safety, Environment:** - Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with EHS principles and regulations. - Develop and implement contingency plans for business continuity. - Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within operational teams. - **People Management:** - Lead and develop cross-functional teams. - Manage organizational change initiatives and mentor plant leadership. - Work closely with HR for effective talent acquisition, retention, and workforce planning. - **Stakeholder Management:** - Manage relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and partners. - Represent the site during external audits, customer visits, and community events. **Qualifications Required:** - Education: BE, B Tech, MSc. (Chemistry) and MBA in Operations Excellence (preferred). - Experience: Minimum 18-22 years of post-qualification experience in production/operations, with at least 8-10 years as plant head/site director in a mid-large sized manufacturing company with B2B and/or B2C interface. Experience in working with global/MNC companies is essential. This role requires a strong leader with extensive experience in manufacturing operations, strategic planning, and stakeholder management.
