About the Role

As a Sigma Developer, you will play a key role in designing, building and maintaining data pipelines, transformation workflows and analytics models within the Sigma ecosystem. Youll work closely with data engineering, analytics, and business teams to turn raw data into actionable insights and dashboards, leveraging modern data-warehouse and BI tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ELT/ETL pipelines and data workflows to support analytics and self-service BI.
  
• Work with the Sigma platform: create datasets, define data models, build dashboards/reports, embed analytics for business users.
  
• Write efficient, clean, scalable SQL queries (joins, CTEs, window functions etc.) and work with Python (or another scripting language) for data transformation or modelling.
  
• Design logical/physical data models (star/snowflake schemas), ensure data quality, consistency and performance.
  
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand analytical requirements, translate into data models, metrics, visualisations.
  
• Implement version control, documentation, monitoring of data assets and ensure adherence to best practices.
  
• Optimise queries and models for performance in cloud data-warehouse environments (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks).
  
• Support dashboard maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancements based on user feedback.
  
• Contribute to data governance, metadata management, and ensure lineage and reliability of data flows.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering / analytics / BI development roles, with strong SQL skills.
  
• Proficiency writing complex SQL queries, strong grasp of database design, data modelling (star/snowflake schemas).
  
• Hands-on experience with Python (or equivalent scripting) for data transformation or analytics.
  
• Experience working with a modern data-warehouse / cloud analytics platform (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks).
  
• Experience using the Sigma Computing platform (or similar BI tools) — building datasets, dashboards, user-facing analytics.
  
• Good communication skills: able to work with business stakeholders, translate requirements, present insights.
  
• Comfortable working in an agile environment, managing multiple priorities.
  

Nice-to-Have

• Familiarity with dbt (data build tool) and/or other transformation frameworks.
  
• Experience embedding analytics, building templated dashboards, self-service BI implementations.
  
• Experience with Git (version control) and CI/CD for data pipelines.
  
• Exposure to metrics & KPIs design, analytics storytelling, and visualisation best practices.
  
• Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, Azure) and understanding of data-warehouse cost/performance optimisation.
  
• Knowledge of security, access controls, data governance practices
