What You ll Work On

Own the data architecture
: define entity models, keys, and grains; establish modeling standards and guardrails for reliable querying at scale. -
Design efficient access patterns
across heterogeneous data sources: choose when to virtualize/federate vs. materialize; favor pushdown and late binding to minimize data movement. -
Establish governance & security by design:
implement RBAC, row/column-level security, masking, and retention; ensure policies are consistently enforced and auditable. -
Enable lineage, quality, and trust:
integrate schema/lineage capture, freshness/SLA monitoring, and reproducibility artifacts so answers can be explained and re-run - Analyze database design and architecture requirements for the distributed applications
- Design the databases for the microservices with well defined bounded context and interaction
- Develop, construct, test and maintain existing and new data-driven architectures
- Align architecture with business requirements and provide solutions which fits best to solve the business problems
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources on the Cloud (AWS / GCP). Using well defined ETL tools like PySpark, Data Flow.
What We re Looking For
- 13+ years as a hands-on technologist with a good mix of application development and database development. Expert Level Sql, Postgresql, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views .Experience BigQuery or oracle SQL or any database would be a plus.
- Experience in designing
canonical data models
and high-performance SQL in modern cloud warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks SQL, Postgres). - Deep knowledge of
dimensional modeling
(facts/dims, grains), SCD1/SCD2
, point-in-time
joins. - Hands-on with
query federation/virtualization
patterns and tradeoffs (pushdown, partial aggregation, cross-source joins, late binding). - Experience with
query engines
(Trino/Presto), dbt
, OpenLineage
, Great Expectations/Monte Carlo
, and catalogs
(data.world, Collibra, Alation). - Exposure to
semantic layers
(LookML / Transform / MetricFlow / AtScale) and metrics catalogs
. - Familiarity with
knowledge graphs/ontology
basics (classes / relationships / synonyms) for terminology alignment. - Knowledge of database design principles, query optimization, index management, integrity checks, statistics, partitioning and isolation levels
- Good understanding of Postgresql replication, high availability and clustering across availability zones and regions
- Good understanding of Database backup and restore to align with data laws
- Participate in an agile software development life cycle including providing testing guidelines for database related changes.
