Database Architect

Role Overview: As a Database Architect at our company, you will play a crucial role in understanding various relational and non-relational database technologies, configuring database replication, monitoring and optimizing database performance, designing mission-critical database solutions, and implementing security measures. Key Responsibilities: - Understand various relational and non-relational database technologies, their benefits, downsides, and best use cases. - Configure database replication across multiple versions. - Monitor, tune performance, ensure availability, disaster recovery, security, and storage of databases. - Analyze database performance and provide optimization recommendations. - Expertise in enterprise backups, recovery, point-in-time recovery, and deploying PMM tools. - Experience in data partitioning, encryption, and knowledge of relational and No-SQL databases. - Plan resource requirements based on high-level specifications. - Design and implement mission-critical database solutions. - Create conceptual, logical data models, and physical database designs using tools like Erwin, PGAdmin, Visio, UML. - Proficient in SQL and procedural languages (PL/SQL, T-SQL, PL/PgSQL). - Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL processes, and report functions. - Implement database security measures, encryption, and normalized/de-normalized schema. - Desired skills include data migration knowledge, database backup strategies, high availability, disaster recovery principles, and performance tuning. - Good understanding of code versioning tools like Git, Mercurial, SVN. Qualifications Required: - 10+ years of experience as a Database Architect. - Strong experience in database management and optimization. - Hands-on experience with various database technologies. - Proficiency in SQL and procedural languages. - Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and report functions. - Understanding of database security measures and encryption. - Experience in database design and implementation.
