Shopify Frontend Developer

We are seeking a skilled Shopify Frontend Developer with strong expertise in Liquid, Shopify theme customization, and frontend performance optimization who actively leverages AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, CodeWhisperer) to accelerate development, improve quality, and enhance client deliverables.

You will work on custom Shopify storefronts for diverse IT services/e-commerce projects, from theme builds to app integrations, with a strong emphasis on maintainability, UX/UI excellence, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Theme Development & Customization
  • Build and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3 (SASS/SCSS), and JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Implement custom sections, templates, and dynamic blocks as per design/UX requirements.
• AI-Enabled Development
  • Use AI tools to generate reusable Liquid snippets, optimize JS/CSS code, create documentation, and generate test cases.
  • Prompt AI to propose alternative coding approaches and performance optimizations before implementation.
• Performance & SEO
  • Optimize themes for Core Web Vitals, page speed, and SEO best practices.
  • Use AI-generated performance reports to identify and fix bottlenecks.
• Integrations & Functionality
  • Work with Shopify APIs (Storefront/Admin/GraphQL), metafields, and custom app integrations.
  • Implement payment/shipping customizations, product filtering, and upsell/cross-sell features.
• Testing & QA
  • Use AI tools to generate automated test scripts and QA checklists for features before deployment.
  • Conduct cross-browser and responsive testing.
• Collaboration & Delivery
  • Work closely with designers, backend developers, and project managers to meet timelines.
  • Maintain AI usage logs per feature for transparency and reproducibility.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2 to 4 years of experience in Shopify frontend development in an IT services or e-commerce agency environment.
• Strong proficiency in Liquid, HTML5, CSS3 (SASS/SCSS), JavaScript (ES6+).
• Experience with Shopify theme architecture (Dawn, custom builds, Online Store 2.0 features).
• Solid understanding of responsive and cross-platform UI/UX principles.
• Proven track record of AI-assisted development workflows (share examples: PRs, before/after optimizations, AI-generated snippets/tests).
• Familiarity with Shopify APIs (REST/GraphQL), metafields, and app integrations.
• Git-based version control and collaborative workflows.
