Shift Engineer

Job Summary:

The Shift Engineer is responsible for overseeing, operating & maintaining, troubleshooting all equipment, systems and sub systems, and instrumentation within the Bio-CNG plant. The role ensures achieving 100% feeding targets, 100% solid liquid separation targets, assuring reliable operation of the plant, minimize breakdown time, implement 100% preventive and corrective maintenance, ensure safety and compliance with industry standards.

Experience: 7-10 yrs in O&M in utility industry or any similar industrial plants, experience in biogas will be advantage.

• Manage daily operations of the plant to ensure that all biomass processes, biogas production & methane purification including safety goals are met as per daily targets.
• Ensure 100% biomass feeding targets are achieved on daily basis for 350 days in a year.
• Understanding Bio-CNG/Bio-gas production methodology & different type of biomass handling and its feeding process
• Thorough in Identification, troubleshooting and repair activities mechanical, rotating, pneumatic, electrical and Instrumentation problems within plant facility
• Ability to implement, monitor preventive and corrective maintenance plan for all the machines as per SM,PM
• Understand and enforce safe work practices related to the following: enforcement of PPE, respiratory protection, elevated work platforms, fall protection, control of hazardous energy (Lockout/Tagout procedure), fire protection systems, electrical safety, forklift/hoist operation, welding, cutting, brazing, confined space entry etc.
• Responsible for Training to operators and other teams for O&M, Special Tools, operations from time to time.
• Monitor performance of critical machines on daily basis.
• Ensure more than 90% plant availability 350 days per year, work on reliability of plants.
• Resource planning for Plant spare parts, operations etc.
• Follow up with purchase department for timely delivery of plant short/long lead items
• Support on safety issues (explosive and hazardous gas, work safety, personal protective equipment)
• Implementation of MIS, protocols for daily, weekly and monthly data.
• Accountable for Daily feed processing and production volume
• Responsible for Gas purification and processing, filling gas cascades shift wise targrts
• Oversee the daily Monitoring and capturing data of all utility, auxiliary systems
• Coordination of humus, manure, compost collection and transportation to Client
• Knowledge of PLC/DCS Trouble shooting & problem solving
• Coordinate and provide feedback to Station Manager for planning and monitoring of plant activities
• Ensure safety procedures are followed at all levels and good housekeeping levels are maintained.

Qualifications & Skills:

B.E./B. Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering or equivalent.

5-8 years experience in utility plants, industrial plants, power plants, experience in biogas, waste-to-energy, or similar plants will be preferred.

Competency:

1. Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation, and control systems.

2. Troubleshooting skills for electrical faults and system failures.

3. Ability to read PID, data sheets, SLD drawings, mass balance and schematics.

4. Strong safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols.

5. Good communication and team working ability.
