Role Summary

Enterprise Tools Engineering team at Staples

ITSM, HR, Security, Vendor Management, and CMDB

Duties & Responsibilities

ServiceNow Administration & Development

  • Act as a

    ServiceNow Administrator / Developer

    .
  • Leverage expertise in

    ServiceNow Administration, Implementation Specialist, Foundation concepts, JavaScript, and HTML

    .
  • Develop and maintain

    Incident, Change, and Problem Management

    applications, including:
    • Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Scripts, Client Scripts, UI Policies
    • Workflows, Assignment Rules, SLAs
    • Views, Email Notifications, and Templates
  • Support

    ServiceNow Service Catalog

    and Requested Item (RITM) artifacts.
  • Configure core ITSM settings such as

    Incident, Problem, Change, and SLA

    .
  • Design and configure

    Service Catalog items

    , including service requests for multiple stakeholders (Application Teams, HR, Incident Management, etc.).
  • Configure the

    ServiceNow Portal

    , working with

    AngularJS

    .
  • Use

    Flow Designer

    to build catalog workflows and integrations.
  • Create and maintain:
    • Order Guides, Catalog Items, Record Producers
    • Requested Items, Tasks
    • Email Templates, Inbound Actions
    • Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Scripts, Client Scripts, UI Policies
    • Data Imports and Transformation Maps
  • Follow

    Agile / Scrum / SAFe

    methodologies.

Automation & Integration

  • Implement, manage, and enhance

    ServiceNow Discovery

    .
  • Integrate third-party systems with

    CMDB (Configuration Management Database)

    .
  • Implement

    REST and SOAP API integrations

    .
  • Utilize

    Flow Designer

    for automation and system integrations.

Monitoring & Optimization

  • Monitor

    ServiceNow performance metrics

    and

    Health Scan scorecards

    .
  • Proactively improve platform

    performance, supportability, maintainability, security, and user experience

    .

Security & Compliance

  • Manage

    user roles, access controls, and authentication mechanisms

    .
  • Ensure compliance with

    data governance and audit requirements

    through secure logging and best practices.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with key ServiceNow stakeholders, including

    HR, Incident Management, RRR, and other business teams

    .
  • Conduct

    knowledge-sharing sessions

    and mentor junior team members on best practices.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay current with the

    latest ServiceNow releases, features, and ecosystem tools

    .
  • Contribute to the evolution of

    ServiceNow standards and best practices

    .
  • Identify opportunities to improve

    operational efficiency

    through enhanced visibility and automation.

People Leadership

Management Responsibilities

  • Provide

    technical mentorship and guidance

    to junior members of the engineering team.

Qualifications

6+ years of experience

    • ServiceNow Administration and Implementation
    • JavaScript and HTML
    • Development and maintenance of Incident, Change, and Problem Management applications
    • Service Catalog and Requested Item (RITM) configuration
    • Core ITSM settings (Incident, Problem, Change, SLA)
    • ServiceNow Discovery

    • CMDB (Configuration Management Database)

    • REST / SOAP API integrations

    • Service Catalog configuration for multi-stakeholder environments
    • ServiceNow Portal configuration using

      AngularJS

    • Flow Designer for catalog workflows and integrations
    • Creation and maintenance of:
      • Order Guides, Catalog Items, Record Producers
      • Requested Items, Tasks
      • Email Templates, Inbound Actions
      • Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Scripts, Client Scripts, UI Policies
      • Data Imports and Transformation Maps
    • Experience working in

      Agile / Scrum / SAFe

      environments
  • At least

    one ServiceNow certification

    :
    • CSA – Certified ServiceNow Administrator

    • CAD – Certified Application Developer

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with

    Virtual Agent / Natural Language Understanding (NLU)

  • Performance Analytics

    application experience
  • PowerShell scripting

  • Exposure to
