.As a Service Engineer specializing in warranty management, you will play a key role in ensuring the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of locomotives. You will work in a hands-on environment, coordinating scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, heavy repairs, and technical inspections to meet stringent quality, safety, and timeline standards. Your work will directly impact operational efficiency, safety compliance, and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate with field technicians, maintenance teams, and management to implement best practices, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure adherence to warranty protocols. This role offers an opportunity to develop deep technical expertise in locomotive systems while contributing to the smooth functioning of large-scale transportation operations.
Accountabilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, heavy repairs, and wreck recovery for locomotives, ensuring adherence to timelines, cost, and quality standards
- Oversee compliance with warranty schedules, technical work scopes, and safety regulations, escalating non-compliance as needed
- Support technicians and maintenance teams, providing guidance and direction on complex technical tasks
- Promote a safe and clean work environment, maintaining organized work areas
- Ensure documentation of all maintenance and repair activities is complete, accurate, and compliant with operational and warranty requirements
Requirements
- BE/B. Tech in Engineering or a relevant Diploma with 7-12 years of experience in locomotive or rolling stock maintenance operations
- Hands-on experience with engines, bogies, brake systems, traction motors, and control systems
- Strong troubleshooting and fault analysis skills for locomotive operations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and IT systems for maintenance monitoring
- Willingness to work in 24x7 operations, including rotating shifts and weekends
- Ability to work safely in a shop environment while promoting environmentally compliant practices
