What Will You Be Doing?

The Workday Financials Techno-Functional Lead Consultant is responsible for leading solution design, configuration, and integration of Workday Financials modules while partnering with Finance, Accounting, and Technology teams. This role requires deep functional understanding of financial business processes along with technical expertise in Workday configuration, reporting, integrations, and security. The consultant will lead end-to-end Workday implementations, enhancements, optimization initiatives, and production support..

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

• Serve as the primary Workday Financials SME and point of contact for Workday Finance transformation and support initiatives.
• Lead workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and design discussions with Finance, IT, and business stakeholders.
• Translate business needs into scalable Workday configurations and integration requirements.
• Facilitate governance, change management, testing strategy, and release management.

• Lead and support configuration across Workday Financials modules
• Core Financials
• Financial Accounting & Reporting
• Supplier Accounts
• Customer Accounts
• Banking & Settlement
• Procurement
• Projects / Grants
• Expenses
• Budgets
• Define end-to-end financial processes and ensure alignment with global accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), audit controls, and compliance requirements.
• Support period close, ledger settlement, workflow optimization, chart of accounts design, tax configuration, and system reconciliations.

Technical Responsibilities

• Build and support Workday integrations using:
• EIB
• Core Connectors
• Workday Studio
• Financial-specific integrations (PECI/Payroll + Banking files, Vendor/ERP systems)
• Develop custom reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions including:
• Advanced, Matrix, Composite Reporting
• FDM & Analytics Dashboards
• BIRT templates
• Maintain and design Workday security roles, domain policies, and segregation-of-duties governance.
• Perform data migration, validation, and reconciliation activities using EIB, DT, and additional tools.

Operational Excellence

• Drive system health monitoring, defect resolution, performance tuning, and continuous improvement.
• Manage Workday bi-annual release impacts, regression testing, and deployment planning.
• Train users, develop process documentation, SOPs, and functional playbooks.

What Makes You the Perfect Fit?

• 6–12+ years of Workday experience (depending on level) with strong focus on Workday Financials.
• Hands-on configuration and solutioning experience in at least 3 or more Workday Financial modules.
• Proven experience leading Workday implementations (full life-cycle strongly preferred).
• Strong understanding of accounting processes including:
• Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
• Order-to-Cash (O2C)
• Record-to-Report (R2R)
• Fixed Assets, Financial Reporting, and Budgeting
• Experience with:
• Integrations (Studio, EIB, connectors, API frameworks)
• Reporting & data modeling
• Workday Security design
• Experience working with Agile, SDLC, DevOps, and finance transformation methodologies
