Senior Video Editor

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented Senior Video Editor to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in video editing, strong storytelling skills, and a keen eye for detail. You will be responsible for editing high-quality video content across various formats, from marketing campaigns and social media videos to internal projects and promotional content. As a senior member of the team, you will also mentor junior editors and contribute to the overall creative vision.

Key Responsibilities:

Video Editing & Post-Production:

Edit raw footage into polished, professional videos that meet creative briefs and project goals. This includes cutting, color grading, audio mixing, adding special effects, and incorporating graphics.

Storytelling:

Utilize editing techniques to enhance narrative structure, pacing, and overall flow of the video. Ensure that the video aligns with the brand's voice and communicates key messages effectively.

Creative Direction & Collaboration:

Collaborate with the creative director, content team, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver engaging content. Provide creative input to improve storytelling or visual appeal.

Mentorship & Leadership:

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior video editors, offering constructive feedback and supporting their professional growth.

Post-Production Workflow:

Manage the end-to-end post-production process, ensuring all edits are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Oversee file management, including backups and organization of raw footage.

Motion Graphics & Animation:

Create or collaborate with graphic designers to integrate motion graphics, titles, and animations into the video content as required.

Quality Control:

Ensure that all video content meets brand guidelines and technical standards (aspect ratios, resolution, file formats, etc.). Review final outputs to ensure consistency in quality, sound, and visual aesthetics.

Innovation & Trends:

Stay up-to-date with the latest video editing techniques, software, and trends. Continuously suggest new creative approaches to elevate video quality and engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Video Editing, Media, or a related field.

2–5+ years of professional video editing experience, with a portfolio showcasing a variety of projects (advertisements, promotional videos, documentaries, social media content, etc.).

Expert-level proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, etc.

Strong knowledge of motion graphics, animation, and visual effects (Adobe After Effects, Motion, or similar tools).

Experience with color correction and grading tools (DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro).

Expertise in audio editing and sound mixing.

A solid understanding of video compression, encoding, and exporting for different platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TV, etc.).

Strong storytelling, creative problem-solving, and attention to detail.

Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with 3D animation or advanced visual effects.

Familiarity with additional tools like Avid Media Composer, Blender, or other specialized video software.

Previous experience in managing or leading a video production team.

Knowledge of current social media trends and how video content performs on various platforms (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, etc.).

Basic understanding of UX/UI design principles and how video integrates into digital experiences.
