Senior Supply Chain Officer - Mold Management

Role & responsibilities

• Initiate and manage mold RFQs with multiple vendors for EBM, ISBM, IBM, and IM technologies.
• Evaluate vendor capabilities and support commercial and technical discussions during mold procurement.
• Understand component and mold 2D/3D drawings for design and manufacturing alignment.
• Coordinate with design, development, and tooling teams for technical approvals.
• Responsible for T0 and T1 sample analysis and feedback.
• Manage Mold Qualification Report (MQR) activities at mold makers end.
• Coordinate mold trials and validation processes; ensure successful handover to molders/converters.
• Monitor mold performance at converter/molder sites to ensure efficiency and defect-free output.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve mold-related issues during production.
• Track and ensure execution of preventive and predictive maintenance schedules with molders/converters.
• Maintain detailed mold history records including repairs, refurbishments, modifications, and performance logs.
• Collaborate with external vendors and tool rooms for mold refurbishment and new development.
• Optimize mold designs for durability, performance, and ease of maintenance, in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of mold mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and cooling systems.
• Familiarity with hot runner systems and secondary mold activities such as in-mold closing and in-mold labeling.
• Proficient in interpreting technical drawings.
• Good understanding of mold materials, surface treatments, coatings, and polymer flow behavior.
• Expertise in various plastic processing methods and machines: IM, EBM, IBM, and ISBM.
• Strong troubleshooting skills related to molding defects and mold-related issues.
• Sound knowledge of polymers and their processing, including PP, PET, HDPE, LDPE, and LLDPE.

Preferred candidate profile

To manage end-to-end mold & Molding activities including RFQ, design review, validation, performance monitoring, health checks, maintenance coordination, and refurbishment for EBM, ISBM, IBM, and IM molds. This role ensures optimal mold performance, cost-effective maintenance, and alignment with production and quality requirements.

• Education:

  Diploma/Degree in Plastic Technology (DPT, DPMT, B.Tech, PPT) from CIPET or a recognized institute.

• Experience:

  4 - 7 years of hands-on experience in

  mold management across EBM, ISBM, IBM, and IM technologies.
