Job Title: Mainframe & z/VM Storage Administrator / Architect

Roles & Responsibilities

Mainframe Storage (z/OS) Responsibilities

Manage
DASD & Tape storage environments
including configuration, migration, and replication. Mainframe Storage Administrator
Administer and support
z/OS storage
, MVS fundamentals, storage devices, and datasets. Mainframe Storage Administrator
Work with
TSO, ISPF, JCL, VSAM, ISMF, JES2, SDSF & Spool
for daily storage operations. Mainframe Storage Administrator
Manage catalogs, ICF catalog, dataset types (PS/PDS/PDSE/GDG).
Handle
DFSMS, DFSMSHSM, DFSMSDSS, DFSMSDFP, DFSMSRMM
for storage automation and management. Mainframe Storage Administrator
Work with CA tools (CA Disk, CA Allocate, CA-1), FDR suite, Omegamon XE, IDCAMS, and ICKDSF. Mainframe Storage Administrator
Troubleshoot space issues, performance problems, and analyze SMF/DCOLLECT/BVIR reports. Mainframe Storage Administrator

z/VM Storage Responsibilities

Administer
z/VM storage
, virtual disks, minidisk allocation, and storage pools.
Manage
SFS (Shared File System)
and VM storage provisioning.
Perform storage performance tuning, I/O optimization, and capacity planning.
Configure and troubleshoot storage virtualization across
z/VM, z/OS, and zLinux
environments.
Implement storage security policies, backup & recovery, snapshots, and cloning operations.
Work with IBM storage hardware (e.g.,
DS8000
, FICON, SAN, Tape**).
