Senior Software Engineer, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming language.
• 3 years of experience with full stack development with back-end such as Java, Python, GO.
• 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with databases like SQL and NoSQL.
• Experience with database migrations.
• Experience with distributed systems.
• Experience with Application programming interface (API) design and implementation.
• Experience with data-pipelines orchestration.
• Knowledge of software engineering principles with the ability to work in codebases and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Make sure the data flowing between source databases and Datastream is accurate and consistent by designing, building, and maintaining change data capture (CDC) sources for MySQL and SQL Server.
• Develop fault-tolerant sources that guarantee maximum uptime and seamless operation even in the phase of unexpected issues and load spikes.
• Write clean, well-structured code, uphold strict testing standards, and promote best practices for efficient and maintainable source development.
• Lead and provide guidance on all technical aspects of development including requirements definition, design, implementation, testing, integration, and monitoring.
