The Core Services team owns the charter of evaluating bad actor risk of all kinds (Buyer, Seller, Brand, Vendor) across entities such as Orders, Returns, Sign-ins, Listings and any event that will be useful to evaluate risky behavior. We build self-service capabilities to experiment and launch new use cases while making it easy to on-board and manage existing ones all over the world. We are the gate keepers of customer trust by preventing bad actors from doing damage to good customers or scamming Amazon. The problems we solve will challenge the best in terms of scale (100s of billion evaluations) and latency (think milliseconds) while operating at the lowest cost Key job responsibilities As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will design, enhance and maintain mission critical systems leveraging best of breed technologies with AI first mindset. Successful candidates will be leaders who can identify high impact opportunities and create durable solutions that scale globally. This role requires expertise in technical leadership, strategic thinking, and a passion for mentoring others.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• 8+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
• Continuous learning mindset and adaptability to new technologies
• Problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Track record of thinking strategically, taking ownership, and diving deep into technical problems
