Senior Server Engineer

As a member of the team at Ankura, your role will involve managing backup infrastructure using technologies from NetBackup and Dell Avamar. This includes providing support for IPDA, Power Connect, and tape systems. Your responsibilities will also include implementing backup policies, schedules, and retention strategies for various file systems, databases, and applications. Regular recovery testing, troubleshooting backup failures, and serving as the final escalation point for technical support incidents are crucial tasks that you will be handling. Your duties will extend to managing all VMware technologies such as vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter based on Dell MX7000/Cisco UCS hardware. Additionally, you will be accountable for Azure cloud environments, handling new implementations, resolving issues promptly, and collaborating with other teams to design and implement tailored solutions. Project management of critical infrastructure IT implementations will be part of your role, ensuring accurate planning, timely delivery, and thorough documentation. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining VMware templates for Windows and Linux OSes, automating VMware using PowerCLI and scripting, and managing on-premises AD forests and Azure AD environments. Your personal qualities should include a high level of organization, task prioritization, adaptability, and innovative problem-solving skills. Building strong relationships, continuous learning, and improvement are key attributes for success in this role. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience - MSCE, VMware, or Azure Certified Professional - Hands-on working knowledge of architecting and managing large cloud infrastructure (Azure) - Understanding of data center stack products such as VMware, storage, networking, and Windows stack (AD, DNS, IIS, DHCP, TCPIP, DFSR) - Experience with migrating, architecting, building, or deploying systems and applications in cloud platforms - Knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures and cloud-native application architectures - Advanced architectural knowledge of networking, security groups, and policy management for cloud resources across multiple operating systems **Bonus Qualifications:** - DellEMC Isilon experience - SAN network and management experience with Cisco, DellEMC, and Pure If you are analytical, enjoy problem-solving, and possess a professional demeanor with a can-do attitude, this role at Ankura might be the perfect fit for you.
