Senior QA Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using

  Selenium WebDriver

  and

  BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin)

  .
• Perform both

  manual and automated testing

  to ensure product quality across web, API, and integration layers.
• Write

  feature files with clear, business-oriented scenarios

  and maintain reusable step definitions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, define acceptance criteria, and ensure test coverage.
• Implement and maintain

  Page Object Model (POM)

  for scalable and maintainable automation.
• Build and extend

  core framework utilities

  such as wrappers, waits, retry mechanisms, and driver handling.
• Ensure

  clean code practices

  in test automation frameworks (SOLID principles, OOP concepts).
• Identify, document, and track defects, providing detailed root cause analysis.
• Mentor junior QA team members and contribute to overall process improvements.

Required Skills & Expertise

Core QA Automation SkillsSelenium WebDriver (Advanced):Deepknowledge of WebDriver APIs, custom waits, element handling.Handling synchronization issues, stale elements, and workarounds.2.BDD (Cucumber/Gherkin):Writing business-readable feature files.Mapping steps correctly to ensure reusability and modularity.3.Java (or framework language):Strong OOP concepts (inheritance, abstraction, polymorphism).Clean code practices with SOLID principles.Exception handling and custom exception creation.Framework & Layer-Specific SkillsStep Definitions:Designing high-level steps without mixing UI locator logic.Ensuring modularity and reusability.PageObject Model (POM):Strong understanding of POM & Page Factory.Writing maintainable locators and encapsulating UI interactions.Handling dynamic elements and reusable components.CoreFramework (Wrappers, Waiters, Driver handling):Building wrapper methods around Selenium APIs.Implementing custom waits, retry mechanisms, and driver utilities.Extending WebDriver with custom elements where needed.Additional SkillsHands-on experience with manual testing (functional, regression, smoke, UAT).Experience in API testing using Postman/RestAssured.Strong understanding of test planning, test design, and defect management.Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab.Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.3+ years of experience in QA, with at least 2+ years in automation testing.Proven experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
