Senior QA Engineer

• Accountable for quality of the code promoted to production.
• Define testing strategy to measure the impact on new systems, enhancements to existing systems or the impact system releases have on the production environment. The criteria must be established in conjunction with end users
• Facilitate requirements reviews as needed with projects stakeholders
• Identify test conditions that require data and develop clear data requirements
• Design, develop and maintain a set of test cases for each production system in use. These test cases will be used to complete any regression testing which may be required. The test cases will be continually adjusted to reflect product changes.
• Develop thorough domain knowledge of the products to be able to develop and/or review of test cases and test strategies
• Anticipate problems and take corrective action, escalation as needed to resolve and achieve commitments
• Work closely with developers and analysts to reproduce and isolate problems
• Architect, design, develop and maintain automation test suite.
• Conduct performance testing and analyze results.
• Facilitate the communication of end user problems and to the various technical teams
• Provide assistance to testing efforts from client applications
• Review of any problem tickets, which may be reported by users to determine nature of problem and possible cause
• Design, create, and implement manual and automated test cases
• Execute manual and automated test cases, recording all results and logging all defects
• Create and maintain automation scripts (SELENIUM/READYAPI/SOAPUI/POSTMAN) and Performance scripts (JMETER)
• Other related duties as directed

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Sound Experience in the Test Life Cycle and how it fits the SDLC
• Sound Experience in testing methodologies and techniques (Waterfall, Agile)
• Proven experience in software testing tools (e.g., Quality Center, Selenium, Jira, JAWS, NVDA, PAC)
• Proven experience in creating Automation scripts using TEST IM/ SELENIUM / READYAPI / POSTMAN / LOADUI / JMETER
• Experience in Programming or scripting language (JavaScript, VBScript, Java, Groovy Script)
• Proven experience in REST/SOAP API testing
• Proven experience in functional and non-functional testing
• Sound Experience in risk based testing
• Ability to produce quality reports on test results, defects and testing progress
• Knowledge of Client / Server and Object Oriented architectures
• Experience in testing Web Applications and Web Services
• Working knowledge of database design, SQL and relational database systems
• Experience in writing PL-SQL queries
• Proven experience in working in a deadline driven environment
• Organized and methodical approach with good attention to detail
• Analytical ability together with strong problem solving skills
• Strong business focus
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work under own initiative and with minimal supervision
• Must be a team player and work well under tight deadlines
• Experience with Testim automation is considered an asset.
• Experience in AODA/WCAG testing

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Degree/ Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent
• 8 years sound experience as a senior quality assurance specialist
• (4+ yrs) experience developing automation scripts in Selenium
• (2+ yrs) experience testing REST and SOAP APIs
• (2+ yrs) experience working in a Waterfall and Agile environment
