Role & responsibilities The Web Accessibility Specialist is responsible for identifying issues through quality assurance testing and suggesting potential solutions for accessibility barriers based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 or 2.0 Level A & AA standards, as well as compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Section 508, and other accessibility related laws. Contributes to efforts aimed at delivering accessible websites, applications, and content by conducting quality. Job Description: • The candidate will be working as a Tester/QA and will be responsible for creating digital experiences that are inclusive and meet the needs of people with disabilities. The Accessibility Tester will advise the client/development team on how to make their digital content conform with accessibility standards and maximize the usability of users with disabilities. • The candidate will be performing accessibility evaluations of web pages, desktop applications, mobile apps, and other emerging platforms. • Basic knowledge of HTML / CSS / Javascript / AJAX / ARIA. • Knowledge of ADA/ Section 508/WCAG 2.0 & WCAG 2.1 compliance • Test the websites and applications using screen readers like JAWS, NVDA, Voice Over etc. Experience in using shortcuts and keystrokes for assistive technology. • Basic knowledge with and/or developing web content that achieves Priority 2 or Level AA conformance as prescribed by the W3C, (WCAG 2.0) while also complying with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. • Strong analytical, communication, and team skills. Role & responsibilities Over 10 year of experience in Accessibility testing for Web and Mobile based applications Evaluate Mobile app, websites, and applications to ensure they are accessible to people with disabilities. Use automated testing tools(prefer BrowserStack, Evinced, JAWS, talkover) and manual techniques to identify accessibility issues. Understand and implement Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and other relevant accessibility standards. Document and report accessibility issues, providing detailed information about the nature and location of the problem. Collaborate closely with development teams to rectify accessibility issues. Conduct usability testing with individuals with disabilities to gather qualitative data. Stay up-to-date with technology advancements and accessibility legislation. Provide recommendations and solutions to improve the accessibility of digital content. Prefer working in banking domain and lead the accessibility testing project for online or mobile banking. Create and maintain comprehensive reports about the accessibility status of tested products. Familiarity with WCAG standards and conducting accessibility audits. Strong knowledge of assistive technologies (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver). Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA techniques. Deep understanding of accessibility non-functional requirements Added advantage if knowledge of NFRs and non-functional testing.
