The IBCB Quality Engineering function is currently seeking an experienced Performance Engineer who can effectively run and automate aspects of non-functional tests with a focus on environment stability. The role involves direct output and influence within a federated model, working with squad/agile teams. The ideal Performance Engineer will: - Collaborate across product lines and department boundaries to enable performance engineering and shift left nonfunctional testing through automated load, stress & soak testing. - Understand peak load scenarios and drive test automation with auto scale and detailed reporting. - Analyze outputs to provide optimal time-bound assessment windows for coupling with CI/CD pipelines and shifting left repetitive tasks. - Understand microservice architectures and provide optimal key measures at correct service levels. - Provide detailed reports on all test cycles with prognosis and recommendations by collaborating across functions like engineering, architecture, and DevOps. - Assist in bringing Observability and SRE foundations in close collaboration with functions leading these initiatives. Qualifications and Skills required: - 10-12 years of relevant experience with proficiency in DevOps and APM performance engineering tools like LoadUI, LoadRunner, and APM tools such as AppDynamics, New Relic, Splunk, or ELK Stack. - Basic awareness of Java with JMeter, .NET, PHP, Node.js, Python, XML. - Experience with containerized technology such as Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift. - Knowledge of web-application design, web services, and common service frameworks. - Advanced knowledge of Windows or Linux. - Experience troubleshooting and solving software performance-related issues. Responsibilities on a typical day may include: - Reviewing middleware, frontend, and data needs to provide benchmarking services for new components and identify bottlenecks on release versions. - Creating health rules, alerts, and policies. - Importing and customizing dashboard templates for tech leadership and management review. - Exploring, testing, and configuring technical flows and business transactions to provide deep insights. - Troubleshooting performance issues using user journeys, usage tracking, heat maps, snapshots, metrics, and diagnostics provided by APM tools. - Driving and promoting quality culture within and outside QE. - Hiring, team building, and attracting the right talent to build a resilient team. - Demonstrating BCMA QE as a model team for adoption of QE across other areas of the business unit. Works under broad guidance based on the interpretation of established quality assurance practices. Consults with Developers and Analysts to identify, analyze, and document defects and inconsistencies in software applications. Reviews all aspects of software changes ensuring conformance to Teranet standards. Designs, executes and maintains test cases for functional and non-functional testing. Validates accuracy and integrity of test results and reports on testing progress. Develops test plans and provide testing estimates. Accountable for quality of the code promoted to production. Define testing strategy to measure the impact on new systems, enhancements to existing systems or the impact system releases have on the production environment. The criteria must be established in conjunction with end users Facilitate requirements reviews as needed with projects stakeholders Identify test conditions that require data and develop clear data requirements Design, develop and maintain a set of test cases for each production system in use. These test cases will be used to complete any regression testing which may be required. The test cases will be continually adjusted to reflect product changes. Develop thorough domain knowledge of the products to be able to develop and/or review of test cases and test strategies Anticipate problems and take corrective action, escalation as needed to resolve and achieve commitments Work closely with developers and analysts to reproduce and isolate problems Architect, design, develop and maintain automation test suite.
