Your Mission at Aviato

As our Lead Python Engineer, you will be the technical authority and chief architect for our most critical Python-driven projects. You won't just be writing code; you will be the force multiplier for our engineering team. Your mission is to design robust, scalable systems and elevate the entire team's technical capabilities across Machine Learning, Data Engineering, API development, and backend services. You will be the go-to expert, tackling our toughest challenges and setting the standard for quality and innovation.

What You Will Build & Own:

• Architectural Leadership: Design and implement resilient, high-performance Python architectures for cloud-native applications, from real-time data pipelines to complex AI/ML model deployments.
• Technical Excellence: Establish and enforce Python best practices in code quality, testing, CI/CD, and security. Your standards will define how we build.
• Mentorship & Guidance: Coach and mentor junior and mid-level engineers through insightful code reviews, pair programming, and architectural guidance, fostering a culture of high-quality engineering.
• Hands-On Development: Remain hands-on, directly contributing to the codebase on our most complex features and acting as the final escalation point for challenging technical issues.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for a technical expert who is as passionate about building great software as they are about building great teams.

• Expert Python Developer: You have extensive, hands-on experience architecting and deploying high-performance Python applications. You have strong opinions, weakly held, on frameworks like FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Cloud-Native Architect: You have deep experience building and deploying applications on a major cloud platform, ideally Google Cloud (GCP). You are comfortable with serverless (Cloud Functions, Cloud Run), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/GKE), and data platforms (BigQuery).
• Data & ML Fluency: You have practical experience in the data and ML ecosystem, using libraries like Pandas, SQLAlchemy, Scikit-learn, or TensorFlow/PyTorch.
• DevOps Mindset: You live and breathe best practices. You have a strong command of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control with Git.
