Senior Publishing Production Executive – Typesetting (Adobe InDesign)Location: ChennaiRole DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site position for a Senior Publishing Production Executive – Typesetting (Adobe InDesign), based at our Chennai office. The role entails overseeing the complete production lifecycle from layout design and typesetting to final file delivery using Adobe InDesign. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring output quality, style consistency, and compliance with client specifications. Responsibilities also include coordinating with editorial and cross-functional teams, managing revisions, resolving technical layout issues, and maintaining strict adherence to project timelines and production schedules.Responsibilities:Manage the full typesetting lifecycle, including layout design, pagination, proofing, and final output deliveryExecute projects across a diverse range of content, including STM journals, academic textbooks, trade books, and eLearning materialsCreate and maintain structured Adobe InDesign templates, applying paragraph/character styles, master pages, and GREP-based automationsFormat complex content components such as equations (using MathType/InMath), tables, and figures with precision and consistencyGenerate high-quality deliverables, including PDF/X for print and EPUB-ready files with adherence to accessibility standardsCoordinate effectively with XML, editorial, and QA teams to ensure smooth workflow and on-time project deliveryConduct comprehensive preflight checks, enforce stylesheet compliance, and manage font and output validationProvide training, oversight, and quality review for junior typesetters within the production teamMaintain clear communication and foster a collaborative working environment across cross-functional teams
