Publishing Production Executive

As a Senior Publishing Production Executive specializing in Typesetting (Adobe InDesign), you will play a crucial role in managing the complete production lifecycle at our Chennai office. Your responsibilities will include overseeing layout design, typesetting, and ensuring the final delivery of files using Adobe InDesign. It will be your duty to maintain output quality, style consistency, and compliance with client specifications. Additionally, you will collaborate with editorial and cross-functional teams, handle revisions, address technical layout issues, and strictly adhere to project timelines and production schedules. Your key responsibilities will involve managing the entire typesetting lifecycle, from layout design to proofing and final output delivery. You will work on a variety of content such as STM journals, academic textbooks, trade books, and eLearning materials. Creating and maintaining structured Adobe InDesign templates, applying paragraph/character styles, master pages, and GREP-based automations will be a part of your routine tasks. You will also be responsible for formatting complex content components like equations, tables, and figures meticulously and consistently. Your skills in Adobe InDesign should be advanced, with a strong grasp of layout automation, stylesheets, and master pages. A deep understanding of typesetting standards, page architecture, and print/digital formatting is essential. Experience in GREP scripting, template standardization, and high-volume production workflows will be beneficial. Proficiency in MathType or similar equation composition tools and knowledge of EPUB and PDF/X output formats are required. Basic familiarity with InDesign scripting (JavaScript) and exposure to LaTeX and XML tagging standards such as BITS or JATS is highly desirable.
