Senior Project Engineer

As a Project Manager and PM Discipline Team Lead at bp Technical Solutions India (TSI) in Pune, your role is crucial in aligning and integrating the project organization, scope, and delivery within the Projects India organization. You will report to the Project Management Discipline Manager and Projects India Unit leader (UL) and be a part of the Projects India leadership team. Your responsibilities will include: - Supporting the Projects India Unit leader in project management and leadership integration. - Leading project performance management. - Managing project contractors and key external stakeholders. - Handling internal partners engagement and project performance cadence. - Leading on project governance and verification including preparation for project assurance gates. - Line manages and deploys project management resources within the Project India Unit. - Acting as the agency staff line manager. You will also play a key role in integrating various project partners and contractors, ensuring close collaboration with the wider Project Leadership team for successful project delivery. Key Accountabilities: - Role model the beliefs of Care for Others, Live our Purpose, and Play to Win. - Develop a strong culture focused on delivering world-class safety and quality performance. - Build a high-performing project team emphasizing rigorous project management for successful delivery. - Establish strong relationships with partners to achieve safe and predictable outcomes. - Encourage team creativity and agility to optimize pace and cost efficiency. - Ensure adherence to Projects common processes, self-verification, and oversight plans. - Capture, apply, and share lessons learned and best practices. - Develop the capability of the Projects India 3rd hub. - Coach, mentor, and develop bp Project Management staff resources. - Deploy PM resources as required within the India unit and internationally. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree level qualification in a technical field or equivalent. - 15+ years of experience in the energy industry with a track record of delivering complex projects. - Strong communication and relationship-building skills. - Knowledge of industry best practices in Project Management. - Familiarity with risk management and major project processes. - Collaborative leadership style supporting partners. - Excellent English oral and written communication skills. Desirable Criteria: - Experience working with Tier 1 contractors in complex project delivery. - Knowledge of operating in an Agile organization. - Chartership or Professional Engineering accreditation. - APM/PMP accreditation.
