Senior Power BI Developer

Roles & Responsibilities

Power BI Development

• Design, develop, and maintain

  Power BI dashboards, reports, and paginated reports

  aligned with business needs.
• Build complex

  data models

  , relationships, hierarchies, and calculations using

  DAX

  and

  M/Power Query

  .
• Develop reusable datasets, semantic models, and workspace structures following best practices.
  
• Optimize reports for performance, usability, and scalability.
  

Data Integration & ETL

• Integrate Power BI with multiple data sources such as

  SQL Server, Azure SQL, Data Lake, APIs, Excel, and on-prem systems

  .
• Develop and optimize dataflows, datasets, and transformations using

  Power Query and ETL frameworks

  .
• Work closely with data engineers and architects to ensure reliable and efficient data pipelines.
  

Analytics & Business Collaboration

• Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
  
• Provide data insights through storytelling, KPI definitions, and visual analytics best practices.
  
• Conduct workshops, POCs, and user training sessions for business teams.
  

Governance, Security & Quality

• Implement

  Row-Level Security (RLS)

  , workspace access controls, and data governance standards.
• Ensure adherence to

  Infosys quality processes

  , naming conventions, and documentation guidelines.
• Conduct code reviews, validation checks, and performance tuning.
  

Deployment & Operations

• Manage

  publishing, versioning, and deployment

  of Power BI content across environments.
• Work with DevOps teams for automated deployments using tools like

  Azure DevOps

  .
• Monitor report performance, usage metrics, and troubleshoot issues in production.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years

  of hands-on experience in

  Power BI development

  .
• Strong expertise in:
  

• DAX

  (Advanced measures & calculations)

• Power Query (M language)

• Data Modeling (Star/Snowflake schema)

• Power BI Desktop and Service

• Power BI Dataflows & Gateways

• Strong SQL skills (writing complex queries, stored procedures, performance tuning).
  
• Experience working with

  Azure

  data services: Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory (preferred).
• Strong understanding of BI concepts, data warehousing, ETL, and visualization best practices.
  
• Experience with

  Agile/Scrum

  methodologies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with

  Power BI Admin activities

  and workspace governance.
• Knowledge of

  Python/R

  for enhanced analytics (optional).
• Experience with

  Power Automate

  and

  Power Apps

  .
• Knowledge of enterprise data modeling tools like

  Tabular Editor

  or

  DAX Studio

  .
• Experience in the

  banking, finance, retail, or manufacturing

  domain (as applicable to Infosys projects).

Work Model

• Location:

  Hyderabad & Bangalore

• Mode of Work:

  Typically Hybrid (23 days office) or Client Location based.

• Shift:

  Standard business hours unless project requires overlap.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field (or equivalent industry experience).
