Senior Manual Tester

Job Summary

The Senior Manual Tester will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and stability of software products through structured test planning, hands-on execution, and detailed defect analysis. The role requires strong functional testing capability, clear documentation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with development, product, and operations teams. The candidate will lead manual testing efforts across multiple releases, support process improvements, and help maintain a high standard of quality in all deliverables. This position is suited for a detail-oriented professional who brings discipline, ownership, and consistency to the testing lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities

·        Develop, review, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.

·        Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and user-acceptance testing.

·        Identify, document, and track software defects with clarity and accuracy.

·        Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.

·        Validate business requirements and ensure test coverage across all workflows.

·        Participate in release readiness, sprint planning, and quality-review sessions.

·        Analyse test results and provide structured feedback to improve product quality.

·        Maintain testing documentation, test evidence, and release notes.

·        Support process optimisation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

·        Ensure adherence to QA standards, testing methodologies, and compliance requirements.

Primary Skills

·        Strong expertise in manual testing methodologies and best practices.

·        Proficiency in test case design, scenario mapping, and defect reporting tools.

·        Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, and agile delivery frameworks.

·        Ability to test complex workflows, business logic, and integrations.

·        Experience working with cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments.

·        Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

·        Clear written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

·        Formal training or certification in software testing (preferred).

·        Strong foundation in software quality principles and documentation standards.

Experience

·   3–7 years of hands-on experience in manual testing across multiple functional areas.
