Role Description:


This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Manager - Regulatory Affairs (Beverages) based in Mumbai. The role involves overseeing regulatory compliance for beverage products, ensuring adherence to both local and global regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include managing regulatory submissions, maintaining and improving quality systems, and providing strategic guidance to ensure regulatory alignment across operations. The Senior Manager will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and compliance efforts.


Key responsibilities:


  • Regulatory compliance:

    Ensuring all products meet local, national, and international food safety standards and labeling laws. This includes adherence to standards from bodies like the FDA, EFSA, and FSSAI. Proficiency in Regulatory Compliance, Regulatory Requirements, Regulatory Affairs, Regulatory Submissions and documentation processes.
  • Product registration:

    Managing the process of registering new products with regulatory authorities before they can be sold.
  • Labeling and claims review:

    Verifying that all claims on product labels, such as "gluten-free" or "high in protein," are scientifically backed and legally permissible.
  • Liaison with agencies:

    Serving as the primary point of contact between the company and regulatory agencies, responding to requests for information, and coordinating meetings.
  • Documentation and submissions:

    Preparing and submitting necessary regulatory documents and dossiers, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Strategic oversight:

    Developing and implementing regulatory strategies to ensure ongoing product compliance and market access.
  • Internal collaboration:

    Working with other departments like R&D, quality assurance, and marketing to align on regulatory strategies and goals. 


Qualifications:


  • Education:

    A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as biology, chemistry, or food science is typically required, with a master's degree often preferred.
  • Skills:

    Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills are essential, along with attention to detail and the ability to manage projects.
  • Experience:

    Previous experience in the beverage areas like quality assurance or scientific research can provide a strong foundation for this role. 
  • Knowledge of maintaining and improving Quality Systems
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
