Position Overview The Senior Manager Project & Maintenance
will lead the Project & Maintenance
function at the Saswad Plant
, ensuring effective maintenance of all plant equipment and utilities, execution of new and expansion projects, and adherence to statutory and safety compliances. The role is accountable for minimizing downtime, driving energy efficiency, and developing a capable technical team to ensure smooth plant operations.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage overall maintenance of production and utility equipment to ensure reliability and uptime.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to reduce breakdowns.
- Establish and monitor machine-wise maintenance KPIs such as
MTBF
and MTTR
. - Ensure availability of critical spares while managing inventory within cost targets.
- Liaise with vendors,
AMC partners
, and OEMs
for effective maintenance support. - Oversee reliable operation of
boilers
, DG sets
, compressors
, steam lines
, and ETP
facilities. - Lead
brownfield
and greenfield
projects from design through execution to commissioning. - Prepare
DPRs
, CAPEX
proposals, project timelines, and cost estimates for approval. - Manage installation, commissioning, and optimization of sachet and pouch machines; exposure to
retort technology
preferred. - Ensure compliance with
FSSAI
, GMP
, HACCP
, ISO
, Factory Act
, and Electrical and Fire Safety
norms. - Implement
SCADA-based IoT
systems and integrate with SAP/BI dashboards
for real-time monitoring. - Build and lead a competent team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians, fostering technical excellence and accountability.
Required Experience & Qualifications -
Education:
B.E. / B.Tech
in Mechanical Engineering
from a reputed university. -
Experience:
12-15 years
in plant maintenance, engineering, and project management within FMCG / Food Processing / Manufacturing
industries. -
Leadership:
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Production, QA/QC, and Supply Chain. -
Technical Expertise:
Strong exposure to brownfield/greenfield projects
, boilers
, DG sets
, compressors
, steam lines
, ETP
, chillers
, freezers
, RO systems
, and water treatment
and recirculation systems. Experience with sachet & pouch machines
, retort systems
, packing machines
(sachets, blister, bottles), and material handling equipment
maintenance and procurement. Proficiency in MEP
and project management with external agencies. -
Soft Skills:
Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management capabilities with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
