Job Description

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management (OPEX)

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for all OPEX categories
    MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations): Spares, consumables, lubricants, tools.
  • Conduct detailed spend analysis, market research, and supplier intelligence to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Lead the end-to-end procurement process from RFP/RFQ generation, bid analysis, technical and commercial negotiation, to contract finalization.

2. Vendor Management & Contract Negotiation

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard high-quality, reliable, and cost-effective suppliers for all OPEX requirements.
  • Negotiate complex commercial contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and terms to achieve optimal value, favorable pricing, and long-term security of supply.1
  • Establish and manage a robust Vendor Performance Management system, tracking KPIs like delivery reliability, quality, and service responsiveness.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with key suppliers to foster innovation and collaborative cost-reduction initiatives (e.g., VAVE - Value Analysis/Value Engineering).

3. Cost Optimization & Budgeting

  • Drive aggressive cost-reduction targets for all managed spend categories without compromising quality or operational effectiveness.
  • Prepare, manage, and monitor the annual OPEX procurement budget, ensuring adherence to financial plans and reporting variances to senior management.
  • Implement total cost of ownership (TCO) models to evaluate purchasing decisions beyond the initial price.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance

  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Production, Finance, HR, IT, Administration) to understand their specific needs and align procurement strategies with organizational goals.
  • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, ethical guidelines, and legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, leveraging technology (e.g., SAP MM module or other ERP/e-Procurement systems) for automation and efficiency.

5. Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement professionals, setting clear objectives and performance targets.2
  • Promote a culture of excellence, negotiation expertise, and ethical practices within the team.
  • Expertise in Strategic Sourcing and Category Management for OPEX goods and services.
