Summary Reviews and analyzes purchase requisitions. Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner. Processes purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers. Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity; creates and maintains bills of material and parts/commodities numbers in supply chain management or other enterprisewide systems. Participates in maximizing the procurement teams changes, part parameters; quote table maintenance, supplier database information, error report analysis, and part number/supplier code information. Performs cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities (e.g., materials, components, equipment and services). Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to negotiate highest quality at best value. Develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive. May recommend cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis or alternative sourcing. Interacts closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues. Works with management to address all aspects of commodity management, including procurement support, commodity business plans, market trends assessment, pricing, and product availability. Requires domestic or global expertise of assigned commodities.

Job Description

Responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities to ensure timely, cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, and services. Reviews purchase requisitions, processes purchase orders and change orders, and coordinates closely with manufacturing, planning, and engineering teams. Maintains procurement system data integrity, including BOMs, part numbers, and supplier records. Performs cost analysis, volume planning, and supplier evaluations to achieve best value. Develops alternative sourcing strategies, negotiates contracts, resolves quality issues in collaboration with suppliers and QA, and supports commodity management through market analysis, pricing, and supply availability. Requires domestic or global commodity expertise.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications

Exposure to EMS components.

Cost saving initiatives

Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email

Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems preferred

CPM/CPCM or equivalent certification desirable

Bachelor s degree in mechanical / electrical engineering with approximately 7-10 years of relevant experience.

Demonstrates independent judgment in solving complex business problems and works with cross-functional teams

Travel may be required

Required Certifications and Training

• Obtains and completes LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility.
• Working on CPM certification.

Knowledge

• A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.

Job Complexity

• Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises independent judgment and discretion in solving complex business problems.
