Senior Manager - Operations

As an Operations Manager at NHAVA SHEVA, you will be responsible for managing the operations of the CHA team. You will handle a team of 25+ people at Customs, Port & CFS areas, ensuring smooth and seamless customs clearance activities for import/export shipments in a compliant and cost-effective manner. Reporting to the head of the Imports department, your role will be dynamic and crucial for the overall success of the operations. **Roles and Responsibilities:** - Efficiently manage the entire operation team at Nhava Sheva to ensure smooth handling of import/export shipments to meet client satisfaction. - Ensure timely clearance of Import/Export consignments as per defined timelines. - Ensure compliance with Customs and Allied Act requirements for import/export shipments. - Effectively resolve queries raised by the customs department. - Stay updated on procedural requirements and changes in customs procedures, port/CFS requirements, and communicate such changes to the HO. - Keep operational costs to a minimum, eliminating unnecessary expenses. - Attend trade facilitating meetings at customs to address any operational issues. - Define KRA/KPI of team members and conduct periodic performance appraisals. - Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment standards. **Requirements:** - Minimum Bachelor's Degree, Diploma in Customs, EXIM, etc. is desired. - G or F Category Customs pass holder. - 5+ years of managerial experience. - Knowledge of Custom & Allied Act, Law, and procedures. - Experience in cargo operations, handling ODC cargo, and communication with customs, port, CFS, transporters, etc. - Strong communication skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools like Word, Excel, E-mail, Teams. - Self-starter with problem-solving skills and high attention to detail. - Ability to streamline operations, drive continuous improvement, and reduce costs.,
