Role Overview

The Senior Manager Line Haul Planning will lead the strategic design, planning, and optimization of Shadow fax's national line haul network. The role focuses on ensuring efficient route design, fleet utilization, LCV planning, cost optimization, and SLA adherence. The ideal candidate brings strong data-driven planning capabilities with deep expertise in transportation, scheduling, routing, and long-haul logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Network & Route Planning

• Design and optimize long-haul and mid-mile routes across the network using demand forecasts, hub capacity, and SLA requirements.
  
• Plan LCV/HCV deployment, scheduling, and routing to maximize fleet utilization.
  
• Conduct scenario modelling to evaluate new routes, seasonal changes, and capacity fluctuations.
  

2. Line Haul Operations Strategy

• Develop and refine the national line haul operating plan, including transit-time design, lane performance, and cost structure.
  
• Set up efficient line haul connections and daily dispatch plans across hubs.
  
• Ensure alignment with last-mile, first-mile, and cross-dock operations.
  

3. Cost & Fleet Optimization

• Drive cost rationalization through route optimization, load consolidation, vendor management, and backhaul planning.
  
• Improve LCV utilization metrics through volume forecasting, lane prioritization, and planned dispatch cycles.
  
• Monitor vendor performance and negotiate with transport partners for optimal fleet arrangements.
  

4. Performance Monitoring & Analytics

• Monitor KPIs such as TAT, on-time arrivals, load factor, vehicle utilization, cost per km, and lane performance.
  
• Run RCA for network delays, hub congestion, vehicle detention, and route deviations.
  
• Use data insights to make continuous improvements in planning accuracy.
  

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with central operations, hub teams, planning, product, finance, and vendor management teams.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field; MBA preferred.
  

• 8+ years of experience

  in line haul planning, transportation network design, or mid-mile logistics.
• Strong understanding of LCV/HCV planning, fleet management, and long-haul transportation.
  
• Proficiency in planning tools, data analytics, Excel/Google Sheets, and BI dashboards.
