Senior Manager – Design Engineering

We are seeking a seasoned Senior manager– Design Engineering to lead our design and development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving innovation, ensuring design excellence, and managing cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to align engineering outcomes with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the design engineering department, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outputs.

•

Develop and implement innovative design strategies, tools, and processes to meet project goals.

•

Collaborate with product, R&D, and manufacturing teams to align design with business and customer requirements.

•

Provide technical leadership in mechanical/electrical/structural/system design (as per your industry).

•

Oversee multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

•

Mentor and guide a team of engineers, fostering skill development and a culture of innovation.

•

Evaluate and introduce new design methodologies, CAD/CAE tools, and emerging technologies.

•

Manage stakeholder communication and present design concepts, progress, and outcomes to leadership.

• Drive cost optimization, quality improvements, and design standardization

across projects.

Key Requirements

•

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Design/Equivalent).

•

12+ years of experience in engineering design, with at least 4–5 years in a leadership role.

•

Strong expertise in CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo, or equivalent).

•

Proven track record of managing end-to-end design projects in [your industry, e.g., Renewable Energy, Automotive, Power, Heavy Engineering, etc.].

•

Strong knowledge of design standards, safety regulations, and compliance.

•

Demonstrated ability to lead large teams, set priorities, and deliver results within budget and timelines.

•

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

•

Ability to balance innovation with practicality and deliver commercially viable solutions.
