Job Title: Senior Manager - Business Architecture

Purpose of the role

The Business Architecture Senior manager is a critical position in the CIB COO team reporting to the Head of Business Architecture and Design. The role will focus on embedding Future State Architecture and Value Stream operating model. It will also focus on a range of strategic and regulatory initiatives leveraging robust business architecture and agile ways of working. The role holder is expected to work closely with Business Architects in other GB/GFs.

Responsiblities:

• Support stewardship of the Wholesale business architecture, develop key components of Wholesale business architecture framework including value streams, business services catalogue, global processes, Wholesale capabilities, customer journeys.
• Support establishing a governance process for key architectural decisions.
• Act as a delegate for Head of Business Architecture in relevant architecture meetings
• Understand and shape the business operating model changes to achieve the vision and work closely with the primary Value Streams. This includes understanding of change roadmaps ensure that architecture, technology, and transformation services are optimized for delivery and appropriately resourced. This includes future state definition.
• Apply business architecture framework to help operationalise key business outcomes through the use of an agile value stream methodology, including defining clear business outcomes, OKRs, and expressing these outcomes through delivered epics and features. Support Business Architecture Tooling implementation.
• Contribute to group business architecture framework development.
• Define target-state business architectures and process designs that integrate agentic AI, knowledge graphs, and automated controls.Analyse regulatory obligations, policies, procedures, and data flows to create structured models, lineage maps, and rule libraries.Design AI-enabled workflows, including prompt chains, decision logic, exception paths, and human-in-the-loop patterns.Partner with SMEs, Product Owners, and Engineering to translate requirements into scalable, compliant, production-ready solutions.Identify simplification opportunities, standardise process patterns, and ensure alignment to enterprise architecture, risk, and control frameworks.Support creation of reusable design assets (capability maps, service blueprints, ontologies, taxonomies, pattern libraries).

To be successful you will:

• Business Architecture mapping and business architecting competencies which include blueprinting, business context creation and framing business architecture analysis, initiative identification and road-mapping
• Relevant experience gained with a major global bank or a top tier management consulting firm, and/or
• Knowledge of banking products, propositions and services is an asset
• Knowledge of change management techniques, experience in overseeing projects and initiatives from start to finish. Knowledge of the regulatory framework.
• Skills in Lean Six Sigma methodology and/ or Design Thinking as well as Systems Thinking
• Experience in using business architecture tooling (e.g SAG ARIS)
• Previous experience and knowledge of developing Target Operating Models, Business Architecture and business modelling
• Strong understanding of the financial services industry, with an understanding of the key business drivers and associated risk factors. Strong working knowledge of digital and technical areas in an operational or consulting capacity.
