Senior Manager

Role Overview:

The Senior Manager Driveline & Transmission will be responsible for the design, development, validation, and integration of driveline and transmission systems for electric vehicles (2W/3W/4W/Commercial EVs). The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams including vehicle integration, NVH, testing, sourcing, and suppliers to ensure robust, efficient, and high-performance transmission systems tailored for EV applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design & Development

• Lead design and development of driveline & transmission systems (gearboxes, reduction drives, differential units, half shafts, couplings, etc.) for EV platforms.
  
• Select appropriate gear ratios, reduction mechanisms, and efficiency improvement techniques for electric motors.
  
• Perform tolerance stack-up, GD&T, and durability considerations in design.
  
• Ensure manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and lightweight design using advanced materials.
  

• Analysis & Validation

• Conduct CAE analysis (static, dynamic, NVH, thermal, fatigue) for driveline components.
  
• Support prototype build, functional validation, and endurance testing.
  
• Analyze test results and implement design improvements.
  

• Integration & Collaboration

• Collaborate with e-Motor, inverter, and control teams for system-level optimization.
  
• Work with suppliers for development, sourcing, and validation of driveline components.
  
• Ensure alignment with vehicle-level performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  

• Innovation & Benchmarking

• Benchmark industry best practices for EV driveline and transmission technology.
  
• Contribute to patents, lightweight solutions, and efficiency improvements.
  

Qualifications & Experience:

• B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering.
  

• 1018 years

  of experience in

  transmission / driveline design & development

  , preferably with exposure to

  EV or hybrid vehicles

  .
• Strong knowledge of gear design, bearing selection, lubrication systems, and cooling requirements.
  
• Hands-on experience with CAD (CATIA, Creo, NX) and CAE (Ansys, Romax, Abaqus, etc.).
  
• Experience with transmission NVH, durability, and efficiency optimization.
  
• Familiarity with international standards and homologation requirements.
