Job Title: HVAC Project Engineer Location: Kerala & Hyderabad Department: MEP / HVAC Division Reporting To: Senior Project Manager / MEP Head Qualifications & Experience: Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution. Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC projects Mandatory Experience: Must have been involved in at least 2 chiller system commissioning projects (Air-Cooled or Water-Cooled). Preferred Experience: Experience in HVAC system installation and commissioning in hospital/healthcare projects will be considered a significant advantage. Job Responsibilities: 1. Project Oversight & Client Representation Act as the client’s technical representative for all HVAC-related matters. Review and validate contractor’s submissions : design drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements. Ensure contractor’s work aligns with the project’s design intent, performance specifications, and quality standards . 2.Technical Review & Design Coordination Review HVAC system designs for compliance with local/international codes (ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NBC, etc.). Coordinate HVAC designs with architecture, structural, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems . Conduct value engineering to optimize system performance, cost, and sustainability. 3. Execution Monitoring & Quality Assurance Monitor HVAC works at the site to ensure they follow approved drawings and specifications. Conduct site inspections , quality audits, and technical checks during installation. Issue NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) for defective or substandard work and follow up for rectification. 4.Planning, Scheduling & Progress Monitoring Verify contractor’s HVAC work plans, schedules, and resource allocation. Monitor HVAC execution progress against project timelines and provide updates to the PMC Project Manager. Flag potential delays, risks, or conflicts , and assist in mitigation planning. 5. Documentation & Approvals Manage and review: Shop Drawings & As-Built Drawings Material Approval Requests (MARs) Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) Method Statements Ensure accurate documentation for commissioning, testing, and handover . 6. Coordination & Communication Lead technical coordination meetings with contractors, consultants, and clients. Assist in resolving site-level technical queries (TQ/ RFI). Ensure interface management between HVAC and other disciplines is seamless. 7. Testing, Commissioning & Handover Support Oversee HVAC testing and commissioning , including TAB (Testing, Adjusting, Balancing) activities. Verify commissioning reports, checklists , and performance test results. Support the client during final inspection and system handover with all O&M manuals and warranties.
