As a
Senior Manager Backend Engineering
, you will be required to keep and raise the bar of engineering excellence, setting up growth paths and structure for the team, establishing best practices for the team to function efficiently. You will be responsible for managing a team of engineers working for a suite of applications that ensures vendors, sellers, suppliers, etc. adhere to compliance standards; enable onboarding, scheduling and settlement for full- time and freelance interpreters and enable Fulfilment Center and Operations workers to engage with Technology teams for systemic and operational improvements. You would be collaborating with stakeholders across several functions including engineering, product and business functions to define and enable the next phase of evolution of the products owned by the team. This role will also play vital role in building Coupang India Technology centre, setting up right practises and culture and multi geography team. This role will have managers from other regions reporting to him/her.

- Experience as people manager and passionate towards building and growing a high performing engineering team.
- Proficient in System Design, Design patterns, database structure, Linux/Unix. Experience with backend technologies and distributed systems.
- Identify opportunities to make disruptive improvements with existing architecture and partner with senior architecture and product to build roadmap and long term vision.
- Possess expert knowledge in performance (sub millisecond latencies), scalability, availability (99. 999% uptime), enterprise architecture best practices.
- Exert technical influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience.
- Strong problem- solving skills, analytical capabilities, and attention to details
- Collaborate with customers, stakeholders and lead engineers on key mission- critical projects
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and/or Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 12+ Years experience in Software Engineering. 4+ years of people management experience. . Excellent cross- group collaboration, outstanding verbal and written communication. - Hybrid - Coupang hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration that acts a catalyst to enrich the experience of employees. Employees are required to work at least 3 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 2 days a week, depending on the role requirement. Some businesses may require more time in office due to nature of work.
