The principal role of Supplier Quality Engineer is to drive strategic initiatives for overall supplier improvement by using quality tools & techniques. Collaborately work with supplier & Eaton plant to resolve chronic issues. Guide suppliers for Eaton specific requirements, procedures & policies. Achieve defined business KPIs, gap analysis & action planning. Drive CI culture & inculcate digital mindset.
"- Analyzes Quality issues trend from suppliers. Evaluate suppliers 8D response. Key Measurable - DMR Closure Lead Time , Ontime closure %, Supplier FPY%, SDPPM Reduction, DMR inflow reduction
- Supplier Quality performance improvement for worst performing suppliers in coordination with SDE team. Identify worst performing suppliers and Lead supplier meetings, assist suppliers for technical queries etc. Analyze supplier DMR data using quality tools & drive systemic improvement at suppliers. Strategic drives to improve supplier overall performance. Key measurables - DPPM reduction, DMR Reoccurrence %- Onboarding of new suppliers for Eaton 8D requirements (Skills Training to suppliers, Liaison, Decision Making, Hands on experience of WISPER). Monitor effectiveness of trainings. Measure Supplier FPY%. Health check drive with suppliers through surveys.- Should be able to drive change. Do benchmarking of best practices / continuous improvement activities with other functions within organization. Understand & share ongoing CI trends in external forums like CII, Quality Circle etc.- Expertise in CQD-P-130 policy. Analyze current compliance of policy. Deliver training session & monitor effectiveness. Do gap analysis of policy clauses & suggest improvements to policy owner (for revision if required).- Lead Projects in Team (Projects - Six Sigma, BPI, Digital Transformation etc.). Participate and present projects in internal & external competitions.- Troubleshooting errors occurred in existing digital tools & dashboards. Improve accuracy of reporting KPI data like DPPM to business through EPM, WISPER, SAP, Balance Scorecard etc. Automate the data updating process by avoiding manual interventions & errors.- Work as Transition SPOC to onboard newly acquired sites. Define milestones to onboard those sites. Capture VOC. Develop & maintain lesson learnt register. Enhance capabilities to become strategic partner role by end to end ownership of process. Resolve critical quality issues at sites to create success stories & generate on site visit opportunities"
BE/ B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Production, Industrial, Aeronautical Engineering
Minimum 10 years of experience in Supplier Development and Quality
