Senior Engineer - New Product Development (NPD)

Key Responsibilities

New Product Development & Testing

• Develop and prepare new product development (NPD) sample parts.
• Prepare samples for ARAI, SGS, sound absorption coefficient, and transmission loss testing.
• Conduct molding tool trials, water jet tool trials, and assembly line trials.
• Set parameters for thermoforming machines, thermosetting machines, contact heating, HF welding machines, and SPM machines.
  

Process & Production Development

• Troubleshoot process issues and establish stable process settings.
• Support production development activities and improve assembly line operations.
• Design and prepare FRP pallets, Poka-Yoke fixtures, and cutting/finishing fixtures for assembly lines.
• Ensure compliance with control plans to meet customer requirements.
• Develop and implement new processes for efficiency and waste reduction.
  

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Monitor, inspect, and test parts to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Provide process control guidelines to the production department.
• Review substandard end products, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Perform first-piece inspection and maintain in-process inspection sheets.
• Prepare and maintain SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for production lines.
• Prepare Process Inspection Reports (PIR).
  

Customer Interaction & Reporting

• Analyze customer line rejections and provide corrective solutions.
• Interact with customers for feedback, requirements, and issue resolution.
• Monitor daily supplies to ensure timely customer deliveries.
• Analyze rework and segregation data to improve process reliability.
• Prepare and deliver presentations (PPTs) for management and customer updates.
  

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of NPD, process development, and quality assurance.
• Hands-on experience with thermoforming, thermosetting, welding, and molding tools.
• Proficiency in preparing testing samples (ARAI, SGS, acoustic, transmission).
• Knowledge of process inspection, SOPs, PIR, and control plans.
• Problem-solving skills for process optimization and waste elimination.
• Customer interaction and cross-functional coordination abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
