Job Description

Job Purpose (Significance of the Role & Objectives)

The thermal engineer at PRAVAIG will be responsible for the design of the thermal system architecture, 1D and CFD simulation, and testing of the We are seeking a skilled and driven Thermal Management Engineer to join our electric vehicle development team. This role is critical to ensuring optimal thermal performance, safety, and efficiency across our EV platforms. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and validating thermal control systems that manage battery, power electronics, and cabin temperatures under diverse operating conditions.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

Design and develop thermal system controllers for electric vehicles
Implement and optimize control logics for active and passive thermal systems
Ensure compliance with functional safety standards (ISO 26262 or equivalent)
Model and simulate thermal systems using Simulink, Stateflow, and MATLAB
Perform MIL, SIL, and HIL testing to validate control strategies and system behavior
Develop and execute Design Verification Plans (DVP) for thermal systems
Conduct DFMEA to identify and mitigate potential failure modes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software) to integrate thermal solutions
Analyze system performance and propose improvements for energy efficiency and safety

Desired Qualifications: Required Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience

Bachelor s or Master s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in thermal management for electric vehicles or a similar domain
Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow for control system development
Solid understanding of functional safety principles and standards
Experience with MIL, SIL, and HIL testing methodologies
Proven experience in creating and executing DVP and DFMEA
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Experience in vehicle-level thermal management, including system integration and performance optimization
Familiarity with vehicle integration and calibration tools
Knowledge of model-based design (MBD) workflows
Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN)
