Job Title: Senior Engineer-Materials
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer-Materials with relevant work experience in the medical devices domain. The role involves developing and implementing material-related strategies, assessing materials for hazardous substances, and ensuring compliance with medical quality systems.
Responsibilities
- Create and follow processes and procedures to assist material-related strategies for defining raw material shelf-life, storage conditions, and material assessment.
- Develop and maintain a database for material supporting documents used in building rationales and shelf-life forecasts.
- Assess materials for hazardous substances, including REACH, SVHC, PFAS, and other hazardous substance management as per EU/US regulations.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding and experience in different types of materials, structural properties, and material stability.
- Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with medical quality systems.
- Manage change activities related to raw materials.
- Create and route change orders and documents in PLM.
Essential Skills
- Experience in material selection and assessment in the medical device domain.
- Knowledge of REACH regulations.
- Ability to analyze materials, structural properties, characterization, and processing techniques.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience as an independent contributor dealing with material scientists.
- Exhibiting strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- B.E./ B.Tech. (Polymer/Plastics/Material Technology/Equivalent)
