- We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer with strong expertise in PTC Creo, specializing in sheet metal design and development for heavy engineering equipment, tractor bodies, off-highway trucks, and agricultural machinery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in PLM systems, manufacturing processes, and cross-functional collaboration, with the ability to lead design projects from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of sheet metal components, structural parts, and assemblies using PTC Creo.
- Design for complex machinery including tractor bodies, off-highway trucks, cabins, frames, and agricultural equipment assemblies.
- Create detailed 3D models, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
- Perform tolerance stack-up, GD&T application, DFMEA, and design optimization.
- Manage engineering data using PLM systems including workflows, change management, and version control.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, testing, and supplier development teams.
- Support prototype builds, field trials, validation testing, and facilitate design improvements.
- Work closely with fabrication, welding, machining, and sheet metal suppliers.
- Lead continuous improvement in design standards and engineering guidelines.
- Provide technical mentoring to junior engineers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors in mechanical engineering or related field.
- 8 10 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and development.
- Strong expertise in PTC Creo (Sheet Metal, Part Modeling, Assembly, Drafting).
- Proven experience with tractor bodies, heavy machinery, off-highway equipment, and agricultural products.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication, welding, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in PLM systems such as Windchill.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFMEA.
- Experience with DFM/DFA principles.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in large welded structures, cabins, frames, or heavy-duty assemblies.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, chassis design, or off-highway equipment.
- Exposure to simulation tools (FEA) is an added advantage.
