Role Objective

Glass, Aluminium, and Battery manufacturing operations

Key Responsibilities

1. Manufacturing Engineering Leadership

• Lead end-to-end Manufacturing Engineering for Glass, Aluminium, and Battery product lines.
  
• Define, implement, and improve manufacturing processes, layouts, and line balancing.
  
• Establish world-class manufacturing standards using Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and Kaizen methodologies.
  

2. New Line Setup & Process Development

• Lead design and commissioning of new production lines (Glass cutting/tempering, Aluminium fabrication, Battery pack assembly).
  
• Evaluate new equipment, automation solutions, and technologies to improve capacity and efficiency.
  
• Develop SOPs, work instructions, P-FMEA, control plans, and quality gates.
  

3. Automation & Industrial Engineering

• Drive automation initiatives including robotics, material handling systems, and process digitalization.
  
• Implement Industry 4.0 tools, MES, OEE tracking, and real-time production monitoring.
  
• Optimize cycle times, takt time, manpower planning, and resource utilization.
  

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with R&D, Quality, Maintenance, SCM, and Plant Operations teams.
  
• Support NPD teams by ensuring manufacturability (DFM, DFA) for Glass/Aluminium/Battery products.
  
• Engage with vendors, machine manufacturers, and service partners.
  

5. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure processes comply with ISO, IATF, and industry-specific standards.
  
• Implement best practices for safety, EHS compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  
• Investigate process deviations and drive corrective actions and root cause elimination.
  

6. Cost Optimization & Productivity Improvement

• Lead cost-reduction projects through process improvement, yield enhancement, and waste reduction.
  
• Optimize BOM, material usage, and process design to reduce operational expenses.
  
• Improve first-pass yield, minimize rejections, and enhance throughput.
  

7. Battery Manufacturing Expertise

• Deep understanding of cell testing, module assembly, battery pack assembly, BMS integration, and safety protocols.
  
• Experience with Lithium-ion (LFP/NMC) lines is preferred.
  
• Lead thermal, electrical, and mechanical process validation for battery operations.
  

8. Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor a team of Manufacturing Engineers, IE engineers, and process specialists.
  
• Build competencies through training, skills development, and capability enhancement.
  
• Drive a high-performance and continuous improvement culture.
  

Qualifications & Experience

• B.Tech / M.Tech (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Production, Metallurgy).
  
• 1220+ years of experience in

  Manufacturing Engineering

  , preferably in:
• Glass manufacturing
  
• Aluminium fabrication/extrusion
  
• Lithium Battery pack assembly
  
• Proven experience in setting up new plants/lines, automation, and large-scale manufacturing environments.
