Senior Database Developer

Job Description

Whats the Role? We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Developer with deep hands-on expertise in MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL , and other relational databases. This role requires strong SQL and T-SQL programming skills, stored procedure development, and query performance tuning. Experience across multiple RDBMS environments is critical as our applications span diverse database technologies. Responsibilities/ Duties Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases (MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and objects such as views, stored procedures, triggers, and functions. Write and optimize complex T-SQL and SQL queries for performance and scalability. Implement efficient indexing strategies and database normalization for high-performing systems. Analyse execution plans, fine-tune queries, and apply performance tuning best practices. Conduct data migration and transformation between different RDBMS platforms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between applications and databases. Build and maintain ETL pipelines using tools like SSIS or other open-source platforms. Develop reporting solutions using SSRS or equivalent tools. Participate in schema design, data modelling, and version control practices. Document database designs, processes, and optimizations clearly for team reference. Stay current with advancements in database technologies and recommend tools/solutions. Criteria for the Role! 5–7 years of experience in database development . Strong hands-on expertise in MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL , and SQL query development. Deep understanding of T-SQL , stored procedures, triggers, indexes, views, and schema design. Solid grasp of query execution plans and optimization techniques. Experience with SSRS (or similar reporting tools) and SSIS (or other ETL frameworks). Familiarity with working in cross-database environments and handling heterogeneous data integrations. Good analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills. Clear communicator with collaborative working style. Experience with Git or other version control for SQL scripts is a plus. Nice to Have Exposure to replication concepts (Transactional, Merge, Snapshot) is a plus, but not mandatory. Experience with NoSQL or cloud-native databases (e.g., DynamoDB, Firebase, or MongoDB). Experience in logistics, freight, or enterprise ERP systems. Knowledge of Power BI or data visualization tools.
