Senior Data Modeler

This role will be instrumental in defining, maintaining, and evolving our organization's data architecture and modeling practices, ensuring alignment with our overall data strategy and business needs. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, mentor others in data strategy principles, and play a key role in the development of enterprise data models and metadata management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the establishment and maintenance of information architecture best practices, standards, and guidelines aligned with the organization's data strategy
• Drive data modeling initiatives and contribute to the design and development of the overall data architecture
• Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models while ensuring they align with industry standards and best practices
• Capture and maintain metadata within the enterprise data catalog solution to ensure accurate documentation
• Evaluate and review proposed data models contained in purchased or commercially available applications
• Guide and educate stakeholders on data strategy directives, principles, and standards to foster a strong data culture
• Ensure compliance with security and regulatory policies within the scope of enterprise information architecture
• Collaborate with business partners, IT teams, and contractors to design effective data models that meet evolving requirements
• Participate in and drive adherence to best practices through design reviews at different stages of the development lifecycle

Requirements

• A university degree equivalent to BS/MS level in Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience working as a Business Analyst with demonstrated expertise in business process reengineering, user requirement gathering, workshop facilitation, and change management
• Expertise in data modeling, including the creation of ERWin diagrams
• Practical experience with data analytics and SQL
• Proficiency in data warehousing and business intelligence practices (DWBI)
• Strong communication skills, including proficiency in verbal and written English

Nice to have

• 2+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly within commercial IT functions
• Skills in agile methodologies and team coordination
• Familiarity with Collibra
