Senior Data Engineer - IT Service Supervision, Monitoring Dashboarding
Job Summary
This role focuses on the tooling of supervision, monitoring, early alerting, troubleshooting, and dashboarding of IT services. The end-to-end scope covers infrastructure, middleware, and business services.
This position offers a unique opportunity to develop your technical skills while collaborating with international teams across North America (NORAM), France, Europe, and APAC.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to defining and executing the observability strategy by breaking down goals into actionable initiatives and ensuring their successful implementation.
- Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines for collecting and processing IT service monitoring data from diverse international infrastructures.
- Assist in designing and building dashboards that provide actionable insights into IT service health and performance metrics, accessible by teams in France, India, and other regions.
- Help implement early alerting systems, including event detection and management, to proactively identify potential service issues and escalate them appropriately.
- Collaborate closely with service owners, product owners, and IT operations across NORAM, Europe, and APAC to troubleshoot and resolve incidents effectively.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring frameworks and dashboard features based on feedback from both France and India teams.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all monitoring and dashboarding tools.
- Assist in preparing Excellence Reviews with business stakeholders by correlating incidents and problem management data.
Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Approximately 10 years of experience in data engineering, IT monitoring, or related fields is highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platform monitoring, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure.
- Proficient in designing and managing data pipelines, ETL processes, and working with large datasets and big data technologies.
- Experience with dashboarding tools such as Grafana, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalents is preferred.
- Good knowledge of monitoring and alerting platforms such as Microfocus (iSapp), Dynatrace, Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
- Programming skills in Python and SQL; familiarity with Java or Scala is a plus.
- Analytical mindset with a strong desire to learn and proactively solve complex problems.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within multicultural, distributed teams worldwide.
