The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in AWS data services to design, build, and optimize high-performance data pipelines and platforms. This role is ideal for someone passionate about DataOps, cloud-native architecture, and enabling AI/ML teams with reliable, scalable data infrastructure.

You will lead AWS data engineering projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate closely with platform, AI, and analytics teams to ensure seamless data availability and quality for enterprise-grade workloads.

Key Responsibilities

Data Platform Design & Development

• 
  Architect, develop, and maintain scalable AWS-based data platforms.

• 
  Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines using services like AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, and Kinesis.

• 
  Optimize data storage and retrieval with Amazon Redshift, S3, and DynamoDB.

DataOps & Automation

• 
  Implement CI/CD pipelines for data workflows using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, or similar tools.

• 
  Automate data quality checks, schema validations, and monitoring.

Collaboration & Leadership

• 
  Work closely with data scientists, AI engineers, and product teams to ensure smooth data availability.

• 
  Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal best practices and architectural guidelines.

Performance & Cost Optimization

• 
  Optimize AWS workloads for cost efficiency and performance.

• 
  Implement partitioning, compression, and indexing strategies to improve query speed.

Security & Governance

• 
  Ensure data security, encryption, IAM best practices, and compliance with enterprise and regulatory requirements.

Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• 
  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.

• 
  5+ years of experience in data engineering with at least 3 years hands-on in AWS.

• 
  Strong expertise in AWS services: Redshift, Glue, S3, Lambda, EMR, Kinesis, Athena.

• 
  Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark for big data processing.

• 
  Experience with data modeling, warehouse design, and schema optimization.

• 
  Familiarity with streaming data architectures and real-time analytics.

• 
  Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation).
