The Role

As a Data Engineer (Apache Flink Expert) you will lead the design, development and optimisation of streaming and batch data pipelines. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams (data science, analytics, product) to turn raw data into actionable insights in real time.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, build and maintain real‑time streaming pipelines using Apache Flink to process high‑velocity data streams.
• Design and implement large‑scale ETL/ELT workflows (both stream & batch) that feed analytics, ML and BI use‑cases.
• Integrate with messaging systems and event platforms such as Apache Kafka, Apache Pulsar or equivalents.
• Collaborate with data modelling, data warehousing and data‑lake teams to ensure data quality, consistency and performance.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), automated testing, monitoring and alerting for data infrastructure.
• Work in an Agile environment: plan sprints, deliver features, perform code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Continuously optimise pipelines for performance, scalability and cost‑effectiveness.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in data engineering roles (total experience 7+ years).
• Strong expertise in Apache Flink: real‑time stream processing, windowing, state management, fault tolerance.
• Proficient in Java or Scala (Python is a plus).
• Hands‑on experience with Kafka, Pulsar or similar real‑time event platforms.
• Solid understanding of both stream and batch processing paradigms, ETL/ELT workflows, data modelling, and data‑warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and Git, strong experience working in Agile teams.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills, ability to work on scalable, distributed systems under production constraints.
• Strong communication skills, ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and mentor others.

Nice‑to‑Have (but not essential)

• Experience with cloud‑native streaming architectures (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience with containerisation, Kubernetes, serverless stream frameworks.
• Hands‑on with ML pipelines or real‑time feature engineering.
• Familiarity with data governance, security, cost‑optimisation in data‑platforms.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹556,713.79 - ₹3,300,000.00 per year
