Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled Snowflake specialist to design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Snowflake architecture, data modeling, and pipeline development, along with a strong understanding of cloud data ecosystems and enterprise data integration. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with our Research team across global locations to design and implement robust data solutions tailored for financial services.
Desired Skills and experience
Candidates should have a B.E./B.Tech/MCA/MBA in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field
5+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years on Snowflake.
Snowflake in Financial Services (hedge fund experience strongly preferred).
Deep understanding of market data workflows (real-time + historical).
Hands-on experience with data ingestion pipelines (S3, Parquet, SFTP).
Proficiency in Snowflake Marketplace and secure data sharing.
Integration experience with research tools and trading strategy back-testing.
Familiarity with AWS architecture and related services.
Strong SQL development skills and ability to optimize queries for performance.
Experience with ETL/ELT frameworks and data transformation best practices.
Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance in financial services.
Ability to design scalable data models and implement best practices for data warehousing.
Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages for automation and integration.
Understanding of BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for reporting and visualization.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in agile environments.
Must possess good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities
Drive and accelerate PoC and evaluation of Snowflake-based solutions.
Partner with Research teams to enable seamless data workflows for trading strategy development and back-testing.
Design and optimize data ingestion pipelines leveraging S3, Parquet, and SFTP.
Implement and manage market data workflows (real-time and historical).
Utilize Snowflake Marketplace and data sharing capabilities for efficient data distribution.
Integrate Snowflake with analytics and back-testing frameworks for trading strategies.
Ensure alignment with AWS architecture and best practices.
Design and implement scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Snowflake.
Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and performance-optimized queries.
Integrate Snowflake with various data sources, APIs, and enterprise platforms.
