Senior Associate - Risk management

Role & responsibilities

• Transaction Review:

  Analyze client transactions, account behavior, and escalations to identify anomalies or potential risk indicators.

• Daily risk monitoring

  : Track trading positions, P&L, margin requirements, and exposures across asset classes (e.g., commodities, equities, derivatives, FX).

• Reporting & Dashboards:

  Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly risk reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory submissions.

• Reconciliations:

  Support reconciliation of risk and finance data to ensure accuracy of exposures, balances, and margin requirements.

• Stakeholder Coordination:

  Work closely with trading, compliance, back-office operations teams for issue resolution and controls enhancement.

• Process Improvement:

  Identify inefficiencies or gaps in operational risk processes and contribute to automation or controls enhancement.

• Regulatory Awareness:

  Stay informed about applicable regulatory and industry standards (e.g., RBI, SEBI, Basel norms, etc.).

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• 12 years of experience in risk operations within a financial services sector.
• Strong analytical skills with a good understanding of risk management concepts and financial markets.
• Proficient in MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic macros); knowledge of SQL, Python, or BI tools is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a highly regulated environment.

Job Location

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in NBFCs, fintechs, or investment firms.
• Experience in handling large trading books including physical commodity assets
• Certifications such as FRM (Level 1), CFA (Level 1), or related credentials are an added advantage.
